Solitary bees

While solitary bees are threatened by the same stressors habitat depletion, climate change and pesticide use, their condition has received relatively little public attention. The most important stressor solitary bees face is replacing their native, biodiverse habitats and ground nests with cities or monocultures of crops

Specific protection action for wild, solitary bee population is not a simple task, though, as there are more than 20,000 different bee species living. In general, the large scale evidence on species specific trends among wild pollinators are lacking.
